Governor signs Kansas Acupuncture Practice Act

Friday the 13th may be considered a very lucky day by Kansas Acupuncturists from now on.

After 17 years of efforts by Kansas Acupuncturists to pass a Practice Act, Governor Brownback made it a reality late on Friday May 13th, 2016 with his signature. It had passed the KS Senate and House late on Sunday May 1st with a vote of 40-0 and 115-7 respectively. With the passage of the Kansas Acupuncture Practice Act Kansas becomes the 46th state to acknowledge acupuncture professionals through credentials, by creating licensing and the protected title "Licensed Acupuncturist" or "L.Ac."

This relieves what has been an ongoing hindrance for patients and acupuncturists by allowing direct access for patients and independent practice for Licensed Acupuncturists. The law promotes growth and more access to safe, effective, fully-qualified acupuncturists in Kansas.
KsAOM members are all smiles and planning for a brighter future. WoooHOOO!!!
